Dental Insurance & Payment Options
Paying for your child’s dental care should be straightforward. At Lonestar Kid’s Dentistry, we work with families with and without dental insurance and are happy to help you understand how your benefits may apply to your child’s care.
Insurance participation varies by location and dentist, so we recommend reviewing the information below before your child’s visit.
Dental Insurance by Location
Our dentists participate with select insurance plans at our Frisco and McKinney offices. Our Prosper office is out of network with all dental insurance plans.
Frisco
At our Frisco office:
McKinney
At our McKinney office, Dr. Rubin, and Dr. Sentelle are in network with Cigna Total Guardian PPO, and AETNA PPO plans only. Dr. Ashley is In network with Cigna Total and Guardian PPO
For other dental insurance plans, our dentists are considered out of network.
Prosper
Our Prosper office is in network with Cigna Total, Guardian PPO, and AETNA PPO and out of network with all other dental insurance plans.
Families can still use dental insurance that includes out-of-network benefits. Coverage and reimbursement depend on the individual plan.
Using Out-of-Network Dental Insurance
Being out of network does not necessarily mean your child cannot use their dental insurance at Lonestar Kid’s Dentistry. Many PPO dental plans include benefits for care received from an out-of-network dentist.
Your insurance company determines how much it will cover based on your specific plan, deductible, annual maximum, and out-of-network benefits. Our team can help you understand how your insurance may apply before treatment.
Payment Options
We accept several forms of payment to make paying for your child’s dental care more convenient:
- Cash
- Check
- Major credit cards
- CareCredit
- HSA & FSA card
CareCredit provides a financing option for families who prefer to spread eligible dental expenses over time. Financing is subject to CareCredit approval and terms.
Discounts for Out-of-Network Care
We offer discounts for qualifying families paying out of network:
- Cash or check: Receive a 10% discount when paying by cash or check (no card processing fees).
- Teachers: Teachers using an out-of-network dental plan receive a 20% discount. The teacher discount is not available when using a plan with which the treating dentist is contracted.
Discounts cannot be combined. When more than one discount could apply, the greater discount is used.
